GALILEO Quick Search
Has anyone played around with the new GALILEO interface which is currently in demo mode? GALILEO Quick Search incorporates WebFeat's federated search, allowing you to search multiple databases in a single search box. So far the feedback I've heard from UGA librarians is that they want the general topic search be limited to a single multi-subject journal databases, like Academic Search Premier rather than including several databases and an encyclopedia as it currently does. If left the way it currently is, the new interface will certainly change the way we teach GALILEO. Comments?

Ann - I agree with the UGA assessment. Tha quick search is kinda confusing with results from multiple databases. And it's hard to figure out that you can click at the bottom of the 10 from say ASP and view more results from that DB.
But however it turns out, both the quick search and SFX, whenever it arrives, are going to radically alter the way we teach. And design webpages and search guides etc.
For anyone who is interested, on Feb. 14 from 1:30-3:30, there will be a live session with the WebFeat team. This gives other schools, beside UGA and GATech, to give input on the new GALILEO Quick Search.
