I'm doing a combined review of two books on the history of Santa for the Library Journal Web site. The one I'm reading now is Nicholas: The Epic Journey from Saint to Santa Claus by Jeremy Seal. It's not something I would have picked up on my own, but it's okay. Kind of a slow read though. I've barely finished it and I still have to read the second one, the title of which escapes me, and finish the review by Oct. 25th. I know what I'll be doing this weekend. ;)

wow, you're all so literary and focused! and here I am just reading for fun! Is there a test you can do to find out the pawedness of your cats?

Yes, Eva, is there a pawedness test? Anecdotal evidence (i.e. games with various bits of string and bird toys) would suggest that my kitty is ambidextrous (ambi-pawrous?), but conclusive results would be interesting.

My kitties are too fat and lazy to be bothered with a pawedness test.

I'm reading Catch a Fire: the life of Bob Marley by Timothy White. It's more than just a biography of a musician as it goes into the political and social history of Jamaica as well.
BTW, I wonder if left-pawed cats are better at Math than right-pawed cats.

I'm a slow reader, so I'm just now reading this blog item. I am reading Michael Cunningham's "The Hours". It's excellent. Jane, part-timer here at Clarkston, is a big fan of his work and recommended it to me. Haven't seen the film but I hear it's very good.
