NetLibrary now offers audiobooks. (This might not be very new, but I just found out.)
Have GPC Libraries considered offering audiobooks? Or, is that too public library?
Update one hour later: I mean downloadable audiobooks, rather than CDs or cassettes.

We do collect audiobooks. I don't think that we have any of the nifty downloadable NetLibrary ones, but we have them on CD and cassette. As of now they are only purchased by Dunwoody and Nonprint, but any campus that wants to can buy them. Let me know if you have any questions that technical services can address.
Yeah, sorry. What I meant was *downloadable* audiobooks--like I go to NetLibrary and download an audiobook to my mp3 player. I know we have cd and cassette. Thanks for the clarification, Tessa.
Oops. Sorry, I misunderstood you there.
I've been thinking about those NetLibrary downloadable books for a while too. I was under the impression that we get our regular ol' NetLibrary books through GALILEO and have been wondering if they have any plans in the works to exand to downloadable audiobooks. Perhaps a good question to raise at GOLD/GALILEO in August?
I think it would be cool to not only offer downloadable audio books but circulating players as well! There could be educational applications there too if more professors got into multimedia and provided podcasts or whatnot of lectures or supplemental content.
We do get the Netlib content thru GALILEO. So that could be an excellen question for the meeting. And if that content is included in what we get from GAL would be easy to at least make it available and accessible.
